Waddah is an SME on Governance and Leadership and High Reliability Organizations. He is the Hon Chairman for the Energy Institute – Middle East and is also the Chairman of the Platform for Connected Leadership, Dubai, UAE which is an organization which focuses on the development of leaders, in governance, renewed leadership thinking, and new learning styles focused on learner-centricity. Waddah holds several academic and vocational qualifications including two PG Diplomas (British Safety Council), an MSc in Environmental Sciences (UAE University), an Executive MBA and a Doctorate from the University of Bradford in Governance and Leadership. He has received several awards in his career, most notably, the Rashid Prize for Scholarship Excellence in 2007 (Dubai), and the IEMA Sustainability Leader of the Year (UK) in 2019. He delivers various lectures in technical, on learning and in leadership and governance at universities, conferences and within organizations. He is a visiting lecturer on the MSc program at the Universiti of Technologi Petronas in Malaysia and appointed as an external examiner for PhD defense exams at the University of Petroleum and Energy Studies in India. He is an advisor on the Herriot Watt University’s Industry Advisory Committee since 2018 and also the EHS Advisory Committee in the Abu Dhabi University since 2021.
